Consider this my cover letter.

I’m a passionate IT professional with 18 years professional experience in the field. My work focuses around a couple of broad topics.

Enable great dev teams to deliver great products. That means supporting them until every deployment is pitch perfect. Necessarily the CI/CD projects I do work like custom/individual software development, only that our artifact is delivered into Gitlab/GitHub/tool du jour, instead of running in a Tomcat container. Combinded with good coaching, this is one necessary puzzle piece to create great dev teams.

I run digital services. Services I’m interested in range from web applications that needs a dose of proven ops experience, to deeply technical HIL or Hardware oriented startups. I’m based in Hamburg, Germany but I’m not afraid to run something that is located in South America, Singapore or some remote desert place in Australia. This includes willingness to travel.

I am a cloud apostate. I do have deep knowledge around AWS and on-prem data centers, but I believe that many hyperscalers, public, private and hybrid clouds, as well as on-prem, can deliver a sweet spot, depending on your requirements.

I’m also available for short term engagements on said topics, i.e. to provide analyses and advice as part of aforementioned areas of practice.

As a final note of caution, be aware that people don’t hire me to fill seats. People hire me to advance their business. I work well with a high grade of autonomy, but our goals have to align to make the most of such an engagement.
